About the event
Master Tan is a traditional Thai massage healer and teacher based in Germany, with many years of experience, and he wishes to share his compassion in Thai massage and Buddhist practice, using ancient techniques for developing our awareness of the present moment.
“I have learned that you can apply meditation to your daily activities & that I don't have to sit cross-legged which I can only achieve for short periods!”
“I have learned the importance of keeping the spine erect, particularly when sitting and smiling!!”
The workshop will give participants the opportunity to learn about and practise some of the foundations of meditation originating from the Buddha’s teaching. These foundations will help us to become present in our daily lives and aware of our most everyday actions, understanding the sense of how meditation philosophy can be applied. You will also learn more about the potential for meditation we all have within us and how to acknowledge your body through meditation.
In this workshop you will learn the fundamentals of meditation, which originates from Buddhist teachings and is the most popular and researched form of meditation in the West. You will learn the most important of the Satipatthan (the classic teaching on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness; the Buddha instructed his monks and nuns to know their bodies "up from the soles of their feet and down from the top of the hair.”)
“I learnt that Thai Teaching is so in sync with mindfulness, and that intrigued me. I really enjoyed the teaching about yoga. I have tried on many occasions to do yoga classes over the years and always after a few weeks developed a cough. Now I understand real yoga.”
“Realising I could take just a moment to rebalance was fabulous. Revisiting mindfulness and realising that it was close to meditation gave me a nudge to get going again.”
Freeform workshop: the workshop has been run in different countries and it has been adapted to suit individual needs. Whether you are a novice or an expert, the workshop is designed to suit all levels.
