About the event

In bygone times hermit monks (Reusis) were ascetics who lived in nature. They developed their understanding of the physical, energy and psychic bodies. Through exploration, the Reusis discovered the postures, channels, points, wind gates and wind (energy flow) within themselves, and combined postures with breathing and meditative practice. Building on this understanding, techniques were adapted to help benefit others, and this is how traditional Thai massage came into being.

As a practitioner, if you truly want to understand traditional Thai massage, you must have the foundation of Reusi Dat Ton and experience it with your own body before practising on others. Reusi Dat Ton is not only at the heart of traditional Thai massage, it’s also key to self care.

Self care is so important but also completely individual because every body is different, with a unique combination of elements, abilities, and limitations, so Reusi Dat Ton exercises need to suit you and what your body can do.
